Happy New Year!

So I had every intention of adding some new products before Christmas. I didn't intend on my paycheck getting slimmer. I wasn't able to buy the sewing machine I wanted, instead I bought my kids Christmas! I will however be saving bits and pieces of my check so I can afford to bring you new boutique inspired products! I thank those of you have stuck with me for this long and hope you will for a long time to come!

Update

I just wanted to take a minute to update this. It's been almost 2 months since my last post but it seems like yesterday! I am still here! I had to take a few weeks to redo my website. I switched hosts and lost everything. But thanks to Amy G of Amy G. Creations and Angela W of Prim Web Designs I was able to get back up and running!
I have busy promoting the website, tweaking my designs and pages over and over again. Can't help myself. I have spent hours playing with the keywords and submitting my URL to various search engines. All should run pretty smoothly for now.
Expect to see new products coming pretty soon. My "seemstress" (mom) is coming back from vacation and we will be working on the Eye Spy bags starting next week. I am really excited about them!
I have also added gift baskets to the categories. Since it is new and I make them as the orders come in, I only have pics of the ones I have done before on the site. Feel free to email me for pricing and to order a basket. Tell me what kind of basket you'd like and I'll make it up and ship it out for you ASAP.
Well I'm off to start my weekend! Have a blessed one!

Geranium Fest 08

A full week of lack of sleep and lots of preparation and I've made it through the 31st annual Geranium Festival! I had some awesome festival neighbors, Theresa and Rick Moore of ricksbrittle.com. She gave me a lot of good information about area events! I'm so glad I met them!
My goal was to sell all the cakes I had with me. Well you know as well as I do God works in mysterious ways! I did sell 4 of the CuppyCakes and 2 of the 2 Layer cakes. But I handed out over 200 cards and had lots of interested potential customers! I even had a few guys stop in and say, "How cute!". One lady came running into the booth and said "Here's the diaper cakes they were talking about!" LOL My cakes were being talked about! How awesome is that? All in all I will say my first event was successful!
My next event is on May 31st. I'm getting ready for that one now! My new goal is to have an event every Saturday and or Sunday. As long as I can make it to Church on time Saturday. I missed this weeks service :( lucky for me I can watch them at villagechurch.tv! I came home from the festival and had a message from a wonderful lady named Carol, inviting me to the Blessed Biz Expo in July! See how God works???
I feel so blessed! Until next time.............

Procrastination

OK so I have just shy of 10 days before the big show and I can't seem to get myself motivated. I don't know what the deal is but it's like, this is what I wanted. I printed out the paperwork, filled it out, stood in line at the post office to make sure it got postmarked for that day, then when I left the post office I called my mom and said, "ok it's been mailed!". So why just a few short weeks later am I giving myself busy work instead of getting busy making cakes? I have most of the things I need to have done, but there's still flyers, business cards, portfolio, etc., etc., that need to be done too!
I know part of the issue is something personal. My creative juices are still flowing, just not into the right area! Instead of working on my business I'm rearranging my living room and dusting. I'm organizing the kids' rooms and tossing broken toys. I mean I know I'm nervous because this is my first show ever and it's the biggest one around, but shouldn't this be the time to shine? I've been planning in my head for months! Now that I have to execute the plans I'm kinda stuck in a rut!
Oh well I guess I have procrastinated enough blogging about it!
See you soon!

Welcome!

Hello! Welcome to my blog! This is my first post....here goes nothin!
I guess I should start by telling you a little bit about how "Is That For Me?" was born.
In late 2006 I saw a diaper cake for the first time. It was made by my then boss's wife and she had made it for a friend. So when I got the invitation to my friend Julie's baby shower that November, I had to make her one. It was a big hit.
Fast forward to May 07. My friend invited me to her cousin's baby shower. I didn't know her cousin, but I made her one too. She cried when I gave it to her. Her thank you note said "Quit your day job girl, you've got talent." Thus "Is That For Me?" was born......
